Company dialogue

As an institutional investor with significant holdings and a long-term perspective, we have become well acquainted with the companies' strategies and historical development. The role of a bondholder is different from the role of a shareholder, but the follow-up of the two portfolios has become more holistic over time.

Maintaining an active and constructive dialogue with the companies is a method that suits Folketrygdfondet well because we are a large and long-term investor. Through meetings and other contact with the chair of the board and management, the companies get to know us, and we get to know them.

These dialogues give us a basis for understanding the companies’ strategies, operations, growth opportunities and risk profile. It also makes us a better investment manager, not least because it enables us to assess the companies’ capital needs and strategic priorities.
